How Much Do You Charge?
I promise it only took a few times of having clients try to negotiate my prices for me to know that I did NOT like it! *Rolls eyes. Seriously, how much more insulting could someone be towards my profession and hard work?
As much as I loved doing hair and as skilled as I was, I had to face the fact that I just wasn’t for everyone and everyone wasn’t for me. #SorryNotSorry
If you’ve ever felt this way and possibly gave in to the hagglers, it’s probably because you lacked confidence in your prices. I learned to stand firm on prices when I was able to justify exactly why I charged what I charged:
I took a look at the salon environment I worked in and identified whether it was a “hole in the wall” or an upscale setting.
I did a little research on what my local competitors were charging for the same services &
I also took into consideration how much experience I had with the services I offered.
